One has to wonder if Mio was meant to be this moe when the series was planned out, before the internet fell in love with her. Not to say that it hasn’t helped my opinion of her. Barnacle Fearing Mio is now my number two behind Ponytail Mugi and ahead of Easily Mollified Yui.

And it’s the hot spring scene that taught us that Ritsu has a good yandere mode for when Mio and Yui run off together.

Hilarity. Serious hilarity. I started imagining a hosaka-class If Jason Produced An Anime fantasy and wondered about The Band Episode. Mio on Bass, Kotomi on Violin, Krauser II on drugs, Mikuru on tambourine, and Mariya on meido-guitar.

There would’ve been a pun here about not needing drummers because we’ve got drama (drummer == drama. no?) but I’m too busy imagining the …awesome jasonness of it all. Throw in Aya Hirano on vocals (in full-blown Engrish) and that would be an episode to pierce the heavens.
