>>"Needs cleaver girl."
Sorry no cleaver girl for you but perhaps a cleaver boy soon :P (depending if the interpret it that way ^^)

>>"Hopefully a Hocchan character finally gets to do some serious killin’ in a …no Naku Koro Ni series. She didn’t get anywhere near enough action in the last one."
I would say you will and won't get disappointed in one of the later arcs. >:D

>>"Of course, that’s if she’s really dead. I’m calling right now that at least one of the dead in this ep isn’t who they think it is. Disfigured faces on dead bodies are a sure sign of a substitute corpse."
The game and anime display her as victim with half-smashed face. That's really difficult to fake :P
On the other hand there a 2 victims with totally smashed faces (if I remember right... the game definitely states it much clearer), so you are no completely wrong with this idea. Still difficult to proof even later on.

"Taco Bell bacon cheesy potato burrito"
.
What are they, an Irish chain now? I don't go to Taco Bell often, but I know if you are going to one you are going to one in the S.F. Bay Area...and I just can't picture an Irish Taco Bell in Alto California...even under our Austrian Governator. Even after they win the Fast Food Wars....
.
Maria's crazy face and Hocchan's voice work get better and better (or more exaggerated, depending on point of view). Damn creepy loli is giving Rena a run for it in creepiness. She's even got a weird ass creepy laugh (though not as batshit insane as Rena or Shion's), and certainly there hasn't been a "USODA" scene yet, but I wouldn't rule one out at this point.

>>"(We know Beatrice is the new Oyashiro. I wonder who will be the new Mr. Delicious?)"

Well, if the requirement is to be voiced by a single-named middle-aged man with a distinctive voice (like Chafurin for Oishi-san), then look no farther than Grandaddy Ushiromiya (Mugihito). Maybe we should start calling him Captain Picard... Too obscure?

>>"Fantastic look on Maria’s face as she reads Beatrice’s letter. It just doesn’t feel right if there isn’t a murderous killer loli in this series."

And that wasn't even the best EFD she gave us this episode. That whole reading scene was just pure emotastic win. Hopefully a Hocchan character finally gets to do some serious killin' in a ...no Naku Koro Ni series. She didn't get anywhere near enough action in the last one.

>>"When Shannon got proposed to, I knew she was a goner."

You kidding? When she got that ring and he told her to wear it if the answer was "Yes," not only was she a goner, but it was guaran-Goddamn-teed that she'd be found horribly dead with said ring on her finger. I just figured she'd stick around a bit longer, but I guess since every other woman on the island other than Maria is at least a C-cup, her (fan)services are a bit superfluous. Of course, that's if she's really dead. I'm calling right now that at least one of the dead in this ep isn't who they think it is. >>"Badly animated ass, badly drawn Battler. I really, really wish Sunrise did both this and Higurashi. We know they could do train wreck, unintentional comedy, and emo facial distortion… and it would be somewhat pretty. This? Ugh. Studio Deen is the Jack in the Box of anime studios."

I say Brains Base. Can you imagine the win and awesome that would result from the Baccano! staff animating killer lolis? The styles are even complementary...

>>"(And why does 7th Expansion like using the mid 80s as their setting? Just so characters wouldn’t have cell phones, internet, and the Taco Bell bacon cheesy potato burrito?)"

Where's the nearest Taco Bell open at this hour...?

The eagle crest is the symbol of the Uroshima family. Only those with the Uroshima blood are allowed to wear it. Hence why Hideyoshi isnt wearing it - he married into the family. The servants are an exception to this, because they are the 'furniture' of the family. In their case it shows that they have been trusted upmost by the head of the family as fine 'furniture'. Note that Ghoda does not have the eagle crest.
.
Yes, Eva and Hideyoshi are George's parents. Kyrie-san is not Battler's birth mother.
.
FYI, Kanon and Shannon are not at all related. Thats not even their real names, just their names while they are servants of the Uroshima family.

I know magic circles aren't a particularly uncommon phenomenon in anime or video games, but the first thing I thought of was the SMT emblem. Now I'm hoping for Shin Megami Tensei: Seacat Cryer, where George tries to fuse Kanon with Jessica in order to bring back Shannon, and Battler spends an hour and a half running around the beach in circles trying to get the foreigner personality Wind Seagull business card only to find out that his level isn't high enough.

>>Meanwhile, George is calm until he sees Shannon’s disfigured hand. “Yeah, those first five horribly mutilated bodies? They were nothing.”
Unlike Batler or Jessica, none of his immediate family members are dead yet (Hideyoshi and Eva are his parents right? I don't remember the anime saying anything specifically but that's what I gathered from the way the introductions were worded). They haven't really gone too deep into the characters personalities yet, but it's entirely possible that the first and only thing on his mind when he sees the pile of dead bodies is the girl he proposed to the night before and hasn't seen or heard from since.

>>Well things should start shifting to the tastes of the viewers of this blog after the 1st arc is over I think
You say that like EFD, meido, melonpan, bloodbaths, tiny headwear, almost but not quite civil power struggles, self referential inside jokes, engrish (ratin?) OP/EDs, nonsense syllables, chess, creeeepy lolis, and Phoenix Wright vs. a young Dame Judi Dench aren't already well within our tastes. Well, my tastes anyway.
