what’s so bad about this?

Recently, the chief of FIFA soccer encouraged sexier uniforms for the female players and has gotten a lot of flak for it. I don’t understand… women’s soccer is not a popular sport– the WNBA is more popular for crying out loud. What’s wrong with trying to expand your sport with sex appeal, because, well, sex sells. Didn’t the girls from A League of Their Own use this tactic to save their league? I don’t see what’s so bad about this.
