I was going to write “61 Reason To Watch Moyashimon,” but, eh, something different from time to time doesn’t hurt.
I edited the original Anonymous translation for spelling, timing, and translation mistakes. I’m still not happy about how bacterial boy and goth loli’s talk turned out and I gave up on the bacteria names, but it’s watchable. This sub file for 11 works with any raw, and I used l33t-raw’s. There’s subs for 7, 8, and 9 (no 10), but they’re unedited.
And… twist my arm… I have a few thoughts…
The guy/guy and girl/girl action in Moyashimon was something to behold. I’m chuckled when Hazuki was so adamantly against same sex kissing. I was going to add an “Editor’s Note: Wait, didn’t she have carnal knowledge of Aoi?”
While Hazuki’s and Haruka’s kiss was fantastic, I also enjoyed the microbes telling Sawaki to jump Haruka. That’s gotta be a new one right? Even the asexual single-celled organisms think he’s a spineless male lead.
When everyone was calling Sawaki a “shortie,” I was tempted to change the dialogue to “But I’m a shortie who’ll eventually pierce the heavens with my microbes!” Uh, maybe it’s best I kept the dialogue the way it is.
I’d love to see a Moyashimon ~Second Brew~. After lesbian fanservice, goth loli trap, and other glorious developments, I’m not sure if they can be topped. Who knew fermenting could become such an enjoyable anime.

Man, I wish I knew why Shinsen and BSS seem to have dropped this. I’ve been waiting for the last 5 episodes forever.
Last I read the Moyashimon T/L for Shinsen went away on an extended holiday after ep.6 and is back this month. Why they didn’t get another translator to fill in, that I can’t tell you …
Shinsen has a horrible time getting subs out within two weeks of airing, it would seem. Sadly, the stuff that passes for a half-decent sub these days…

Seconded. Preferably with heavy meme usage, standard blog copypasta, colourful adjectives and sports references that go right over my head but are appreciated none the less.
7-zip extracts the files for the 7-9 batch; nothing else I tried would.

Wow, I’m actually really relieved to hear that. I was tempted to start downloading the raws and trying to figure out the conversational parts of the dialogue with the terrible Japanese I’ve picked up watching fansubs…now I don’t have to! Thanks.

I dropped in on the BSS IRC channel; they said they’re still working on it and episode 7 will be out Real Soon Now. Meanwhile another group called SEES has released 7 and 8 on AnimeSuki.
I’m still waiting for a reasonable explanation for why they killed off kei for a few episodes and brought him back as a goth loli.
In the mean time I imagine the conversation went something like this: Editor – You know that kei character doesn’t bring much to table *clicks fingers* I know a goth loli! Creator – ?!
Moyashimon is a show that’s just full of win. Heck, the night where Aoi and Hazuki try out the aphrodisiacs and get it on needs its own separate episode!
I skimmed through the raw manga (apparently Kei was always meant as a goth loli trap!) and there’s a lot more story to be told (there’s a hilarious scene where Sawaki comments on the microbial growth on the floor of the brewery where Aoi x Hazuki had their one night stand, and Aoi beats all the guys senseless with an awamori bottle to stop all their nosy questions, heh).
I wholly support a second season for the show (haha, Second Brew) since there’s certainly enough material for another 13+ episodes. The Paris arc is just begging to be animated!
Oh, and speaking from experience, Zampa Awamori is some tasty stuff!
