First things first– I made a Pita-Ten wallpaper. You can get one of two convenient sizes. Now, to the mailbag…

I hope you’re happy with your X-Crap. It looks like mediocre gaming consoles are more valuable to you than your soul! ^^

I sold my gaming soul six years ago when I picked the Sony PlayStation over the N64 and Saturn. Back then, the buzz was that Sony was the big bad company that was willing to spend, spend, spend to win the market. Well, payback’s a bitch. From my initial impressions of the X-Box, it only reaffirms the fact that the PS2 has a lot of games. A lot of crappy, mediocre games. Where’s the soul in the nth Final Fantasy? Or a sequel to a game that’s not supposed to have a sequel, ever? Where’s the soul in games like Britney’s Dance Beat and Spyro?

No, the soul’s in games like Metroid Prime (GCN) that is a true heritage remake instead of the milk-the-franchise Contra: SS (PS2). Soul’s in games that connect people like Animal Crossing (GCN), Mech Assault (X-Box), and Phantasy Star Online (GCN/X-Box). What does the PS2 have? Everquest Adventures. Egads.

What is the fun of a great game like Guilty Gear XX when you can’t play against other people? Do I really enjoy getting pummeled by the computer that much? Capcom vs. SNK 2 has X-Box Live support, and Soul Calibur 2 probably will have it as well.

What ever happened to playing games because they’re fun to play? It’s not a business about trash-talking… Nintendo realizes this, and Microsoft is starting to understand. Sony? No, they don’t. Or else they wouldn’t have dissed the NES… that’s something Microsoft has never done.

Yes, I sold my gaming soul. But the devil never looks like what you think it might look like.

Now for something lighter…

What is this life size model of belldandy I hear you speaking of, I looked on eBay and saw no such thing, call me stupid but yeah… you have any pictures of it?

P.S. Is this a joke? Or is there really a life sized model…
Kevin (Kamzu, I know this is you)

There was a “Life-sized Belldandy Project” a while ago, but it’s been ages since I’ve heard about them. I doubt they ever finished, and, if they did, I doubt they’d ever part with it. There is a nice Evil Bell model that sells for $150, but you’ll have to paint yourself. Details can be found at the new sba update.

My, my… what big… uh… fanservice you have…

  1. You know nobody wins the console wars, right?

About fighting games and online support… yeah, I guess online play is a lot better than playing the computer, IF both players have broadband connections (ever try playing Street Fighter over Kaillera using a 56k modem?), but it still doesn’t beat whoopin on (or getting whooped by) somebody sitting right next to you.

    Anyway, my comment is pointless.

  2. Nothing quite like the feel of a good controller in your hands
First off, a big thank you to Jason for doing this layout for me. It is most l33t, and is better than anything I could ever come up with without loads of research and time…scratch that, it’s better than anything that I could come up with.

    Second…
