To be fair… out of the four belldandy.us blogs, Senbei’s was hosed for a good two weeks and he was away on a conference, Liz never updated hers, and I’ve been away on break. I definitely don’t see any difference there.
Forum traffic (even SD) is at all-time highs, enough so that I’m considering buying more bandwidth. Idiotic post suppression is at an all-time high too, but that’s pretty proportional with the overall traffic increase. Back on the old server, I remember _months_ where SD wouldn’t even get a visitor. Also, despite the recent hacks, the server has been more stable than ever before. Remember the days when the forums would be down about 3 days during a week? Sustained server uppage can be hard on a community as well.
Chat’s not missing anything. It’s more active than a year ago, and while it’s not at all-time highs, it’s also more productive and less idle spam. It’s also lacking the backstabbing that was occuring, so that’s a good thing. I just have to get that trivia bot working again, but that’s more of a “I upgraded to XP and the script doesn’t work that well anymore.”
Besides picking up Mahoro 2 and Chobits GN 4, I haven’t been keeping up either. It’s more of a “we’re in the middle of one of the greatest gaming ages in history” than anything else… since the beginning of the year, the most excellent PDO, the addicting multiplayer Mechassault, the KOS-MOS filled Xenosaga, and the recent granddaddy of them all, Wind Waker have all came out. All are tops in their respective genres, and this isn’t even counting C&C Generals and WC3 Expansion beta. Oh yeah… there’s that Volleyball game too, which I still don’t own. Narg beat me to it.

OK, maybe I didn’t do a great job in wording my entry. The general gist of my post was that my interests have shifted. I’m not as involved with anime as I used to be to the point where I’d have to keep up with all the recent releases, keep on top of fansubs, and check anime forums at least once a day. The Diner is the only forum that I check on a semi-regular basis, and I only usually read the General Chat posts. All the others I skim to make sure that they are compliant with the forum’s rules. Occasionally I’ll post. Regarding #belldandy, well it is dead to me since the only usual visitors are Senbei, Cali, you, and myself. I talk to Cali on AIM. I’ll chat with Senbei every now and then, but convos don’t always carry that far. You’ve been gone, like you said.
The forums and the channel are both great. I have nothing against either, and am glad that you’ve devoted all this time, effort, and money over the years. With my love of anime declining, I’m just starting to feel out of place is all.

Up until he said something I hadn’t even realized that i did the same thing (skimming the forums) but as soon as he did i got back on the horse and kept checking things more regularly. I love how my comment about SD was inaccurate. I should make more knock-on-wood type comments. ;P
