Well! I can do that too. Just substitute “Jungle wa Itsumo Hare Nochi Guu” for “Pavel Podkolzine” and “Xenosaga II“.

2004 AX Grades

ADV
They picked up a lot of shows heavy on hype, lite on substance… basically, they cleaned Gonzo’s house. Gantz (Gonzo), Loki Ragnorak, Moeyo Ken, Gravion Zwei (Gonzo) all fit this bill. Still, they grabbed a lot and a wide assortment… Hello Kitty of all things. Can’t say I’ll actually pre-order any of them. Grade: B-.

AN
Just Guu… which is something I have never seen. Grade: Inc.

Bandai
Onegai Twins will make them a ton of money, but zero dollars from me. Mars Daybreak, Overman King Gainer, and Galaxy Angel Z are mediocre at best. Disappointing not seeing Jubei 2 on their list. Nonetheless, Scrapped Princess is a gem, and I’m glad someone finally picked it up… just hope Bandai won’t be slow with it. Grade: B.

Funimation
Wow. ADV missed out on a mindless Gonzo title in Burst Angel. Only other title Funimation picked up was the third Tenchi OVA… he’s still around? I’m not going to watch. Grade: D.

Geneon
I can forgive them for everything else… eX-Driver OVA, Popotan, Tenjou Tenge… because they are bringing us Lemon, Maron, and Melon as well as Mugen, Fuu, and Jin… all in January to boot. Though they said Champloo will span 7 DVDs… arg. Grade: A.

Media Blasters
Midori no Hibi is a no-brainer. Asagiri no Miko is servicable though it’s not really memorable. Eiken is horrible unless you have a certain fetish, then you’ll love it. Grade: C+.

TRSI
Not much, but To Heart is something I like. Grade: C.

Now if only someone… *cough* Geneon… would pick up Melody of Oblivion.
