mit article

MIT Technology Review posted an article comparing doujinshi to fansubs and how they both promote a product that needs promoting. I don’t think anime and manga would be anywhere as popular as it is now in the US without the help of fansubbers and scanlators. For one, the amount of anime and manga in the world is huge, and fansubs is a way to introduce people to lesser known series. If it weren’t for the fanatical support for Sister Princess, I doubt it would have ever made it over.

  1. You got that right. It seemed as soon as commercial anime translators saw Sister Princess, they screamed out “immoral” and “incest” in the same sentence. Yeah… so he has some over-loving half sisters… that’s not the point of the series.

    But you already know that.

Besides… we all know Jiiya wins in the end. ^_-
