neko mimi meido >> catwomen

I saw this article from Buffalo News that had some wonderful arguments for anime. If you find yourself argeeing, check out some of the movies she suggests. Of course, chances are if you do read my blog, you probably watch too much anime to begin with. :)

Are you looking for something colorful, exciting, and suitably rated to watch, but find yourself frustrated by movies such as, say, “Catwoman”?

They’re like any movie you’d find playing at Regal or renting from Blockbuster, except that they’re better.

A few more anime movies I feel deserve mention:

  • Escaflowne, The Movie: Beautiful animation, great soundtrack, and bishounen for the ladies and non-tradiational guys, a high body count for the more traditional guys. Since it is a retelling of the original story, one doesn’t need to watch the TV series to appreciate this movie.
  • Ghost in the Shell and Ghost in the Shell: Innocence: The definite source of cyberpunk… one of the most cerebral anime movies I have ever seen.
  • Voices of a Distant Star: Just remember, it was done by a single (as in one, uno) person.
