comment spam problems? akismet.

I noticed a few people complaining about comment spam, uh, very recently. One word: Akismet. I’ve been using it on all my WP2 blogs, and it has been fantastic. My older blogs, such as AoMM, run Hashcash and Bad Behavior, and they both save me a lot of time. Also, WP has a lot more built-in spam fighting tools as well as a better developer community around it than MT these days, and 2.0 features a very spiffy MT importer. Yet another reason to go WP.

  1. I just went to 2.0 for my new blog, and love it. I liked how they integrated image uploading into the authoring page, and put in their own honest to God WYSIWYG editor. Still not tag support, but fortunately, Ultimate Tag Warrior is still a champ in 2.0.

  2. Wow, I wish my blog was cool enough to be the target of spammers… I haven’t gotten any comment spam! Maybe it’s because I upgraded to 2.0 and have that akismet thing now. My host supposedly also has its own spam prevention tactics in place.

I guess I can only hope for the day…
    what am I saying!?
