live action haruhi suzumiya?

Reader =_x reports rumors of a Suzumiya Haruhi live action adaptation. Whatever happens, I want Mariah Carey to sing the ED and have Mikuru sleep around with everyone in the school… oh, wait, I’m getting confused with the YUA live action adaptation. My bad.

  1. Oh, good God… I hope they get it done right…

Can you imagine the ending credits? ;)

  2. The actress for Mikuru (戸田恵梨香) seems to be lacking quite a bit in the…err…melopan to be playing Mikuru…

  3. Looks like another Japanese otaku site has confirmed this
    http://www.new-akiba.com/archi....._2935.html

  4. Uh, neither of those URLs are especially recent. So… uh… same rumors as have been floating around for the past… uh… 2 months since Haruhi ended?

  5. I wonder who is doing kyon.. mikuru needs to be a hot one too! , haruhi well the producer can just kill her in the middle.. though it wouldn’t be haruhi suzumiya anymore :|

  6. If it’s not a second season for Haruhi, I’m just not interested. It’s like with the upcoming Evangelion movies, if Gainax is not animating RE-TAKE, then I’m not interested.

  7. actress for haruhi/mikuru are acceptable (though looks like in their mid 20s)
    wtf with yuki though, -100 ; ;

  8. this would own.

  9. From what I could tell from what Babelfish was able to mangle into English, this dorama is going to be told from the POV of Haruhi and NOT Kyon? WTF! Blasphemy! Tell me Babelfish has failed me once again, and I shall forevermore be Google Language Tools’ bitch.

That’s IF any of this is legit, of course. Googling the actor’s names, I recognized Haruhi’s prospective actress and Kyon’s prospective actor (wasn’t he in the LA Death Note?) as the same ones I saw tagged to play them in the rumors from last month. And checking back, it looks like Yuki’s and Mikuru’s rumored actresses are the same, too. Don’t remember ever seeing any pictures of the wannabe Itsuki, though, so dunno about him. Of course, whether this is just the same wild-ass rumor resurrected due to The Power of The Interweb, or added evidence that the original was more than just a rumor, remains to be seen.

But damn if that Haruhi isn’t hot! Speaking of…

“Acceptable”? “wtf with Yuki though”? Looks like someone’s just not attracted to attractive women. While the quality and erm–“photogenic-ness” (George W taught me to talk) of the pictures varied on the searches I made (except for Haruhi’s–all hers were smokin’), all three of these women had some seriously good looking shots. Do some more looking and you might just change your mind.

  10. Holy shitmonkeys!

  11. The actor for Kyon AND Mikuru both played a part in the Deathnote movie (repsectively L and Misa)… I wonder who are they going to get to play LOL-FANG-TAN.

i’m not saying they are not hot, i’m just saying they don’t make fair representation of the roles they are trying to play

for 1 thing, 戸田恵梨香 has no chest at all while she try to play Mikuru
and i just don’t see 黒川芽以(who looks clueless in nearly all her shots) make a acceptable humanoid interface

Ah, sorry then. I do agree on 戸田恵梨香, that even though she is quite attractive, she doesn’t quite have Mikuru’s ehm–assets. But most of the shots I saw of 黒川芽以 appeared to be from photo shoots or promo shots, and those tend to lean toward the vacant anyway, so I’ll reserve judgment on that.

  14. Just as long as it doesn’t have InsaneLampshade a.k.a. Man-Haruhi, I’ll be happy.

  15. I debunked this at least a month ago. The actor who is supposed to be playing Kyon shot this down in his own blog.

  16. live action won’t be half as fun as anime =/

  17. where are ya’ll seeing the actresses?

  18. Erika Toda fits Misa from Death Note, but as Mikuru? Don’t know, it might work. Ken’ichi Matsuyama as Kyon seems likely, but all I’ve seen him in was the Death Note movies, and the series as Gelus (or Jealous).
