Reader Juan has pointed out that the Nagasarete Airantou site has been updated with a cast list. ANN also has the updated info. I think we’ve known that Horie Yui was going to voice Suzu, and the rest, eh, I don’t really have much of an opinion. I am horrified though at the glimpses of the art quality. The art looks like Crescent Love bad.

The art reminds me of the first Negima… as in they look like they were done by a pre-schooler on MS Paint… so that’s not a good thing. Suzu and Chikage look freaking ugly (whyyy???), at least Machi looks like she was the least “damaged” of the bunch (and she’s got Megadere’s Ayako’s voice, that’s a good thing).
I will watch the first episode, only to see if there’s something worth saving in this, but after that I’ll stick with the manga.
ps. If it weren’t for OtoBoku, I’d say Feel is the new DEEN.
That’s pretty much a travesty, but I’m not sure how well it would translate to anime in the first place…
I’d want to see someone make a Jingai Makyou anime, just on the strength of those unbelievable figures/CGs I’ve seen. Plus, it’s an ero-game, and those seem to be really popular, perhaps due to the good looking character designs they demand.
Plus, we’ve got Evangelion no Naku Koro ni, or Evangelion Reloaded, or something. It has a high potential cool, plus it’ll stoke the smoldering fires of the Rei fanboys, who were forced to subsist on the likes of Tabitha. Though, snap call: Is Hideki Anno over the hill? Is this going to be Escaflowne: The Movie: The Redux? From what I hear, I’m glad I didn’t see that one… *shudder*
Suzu looks bad, but Chikage is just WRONG. My dear Machi barely looks good. Rin is the best looking one. (But then again, maybe is just the expression of her face.)
I hope this is just the preliminary art, but honestly, I don’t think so.

I don’t care, it’s Horie Yui, she will pull it off with no sweat. I just want my Machi left untainted. She HAS to be just as awesome as in the manga, or else ;_;

waaah!! something i’ve been looking forward to all this time since the manga is awesome, but what the hell is that drawing of Suzu??? It better be just some preliminary drawing and not the real thing! btw, i thought she was blonde, but then again, she’s meant to be Japanese.

I’d say that Feel is the new Deen because of Otome wa Boku. The amount of cost-cutting that went into that series is horrible.

And at least they did treat OtoBoku’s plot even better than DEEN with Higurashi.

Yet you fail to realize that she’s had that hair color in every color page in the manga. I’d rather have her as a blonde too, though.
When does this anime come out ?.

If that’s how it’s gonna look like, I guess I’ll watch until Machi-sama releases her evil laugh, then promptly melt into a puddle of goo, and then go back to the manga.

The designs on starchild’s site look so FLAT.
I think it may pass as a ToHeart 2 grade anime.

The art on the site may look bad, but when the anime airs the art might look better than we expect. It has happened to some animes. =/
Hmmm, the character sketches in the website look like the “preliminary stage” of the characters. I highly (absolutely HIGHLY) doubt they will release Nagasarete Airantou like that… seriously.
Anyway most of the character are surprisingly similar to what I imaged them but hell. Everyone has different opinions!
At the moment from what I am seeing, the release of this animated version of Nagasarete Airantou looks promising. So don’t go hating this anime yet it does have potential from what I have seen.

Every picture I looked at on the official site has the same artstyle and looks pretty much identicle to the manga, only colored… And every colored pictured I’ve seen of suzu, her hair is a light brown, not blonde. Most of you are too damn judgemental, “omg the art is so crappy” bullshit… “look like they were done by a preschooler on MS paint” again, bullshit… “Suzu looks bad” again, her hair is simply too dark, other than that, bullshit… Oh, and “Sketches” are pre-drawings, NOT FINAL COPIES! Take an art class, you will be instructed to give “A ROUGH SKETCH OF WHAT YOU WILL DRAW!”
