I guess the second season of Zero no Tsukaima didn’t suck enough because it is back and getting a third season. It also looks like the return of Haruhi Suzumiya is creeping ever closer. Interestingly enough, Yasuhiro Takemoto (Lucky Star) is listed as the director, not Tatsuya Ishihara.

Lucky StarFMP: Fumoffu, FMP: TSR) is listed as the director, not Tatsuya Ishihara.Corrected that for you. Looks much better, doesn’t it?
Goddamn Saito, why didn’t you just die at the sn2 finale?
oh god..
i stopped watching season 2 at ep 2. unbearable.
I’m pretty sure whoever ends up directing, it will be at least somewhat good.
The third season just has to be better than second right…. nothing can be worse than that crap…
From the look of that picture, they will probably be animating The Disappearance of Suzumiya Haruhi, which imho, is the better arc of the series.
Season 2 of ZnT hurt me in ways I never hurt before. I hope season 3 is a little better.
I just finished season 2 like 3 days ago.. it was THAT bad. Hell it was even better than Shana II only because Saito is not a total spineless idiot. Though he should of died anyways ~_~
I think this is a good change, since I felt the directing was the worst part of season 2. The pacing was really just terrible, so maybe season 3 will be better.
well, ZnT season 2 has more to do with original story than Shana season 2… since so far Shana season 2 doesn’t have 1 ep that remotely close to the novel yet
so in that way, ZnT is better…
ZnT2 had one good thing about it… a ridiculously catchy OP! That’s about all I’m looking forward to in the third season, assuming I even watch it.
It’s not just ZnT, looks like Higurashi is getting a third season too:

I’m scared, but not in the way a “horror” series is supposed to scare.
ZnT2 had a terrible ending, it had the pacing of a 24 episode until someone remembered it was just 12 and so the entire Albion arc was the failure of failures, down to the coop-out ending.
Sure ZnT3 can “save it” by making it about the time Saito was “dead” but I doubt it, the damage is already done.
Lets hope they put some new stuff in the new ZnT season, because all we can expect right now is Louise complaining about Saito dogging over Siesta and Kirche, Saito getting pwned, then unanswered sexual tension between them, it’s going to be the same crap all over again.
And on a American Anime Development note, looks like the Anime Network is pulling shows from it’s “NO FREAKEN DUH” vault and putting Tengen Toppa on it’s online player, for free.
Compared to season 1, Higurashi is more like suitable for all age, no violence at all, especially episode 23, ridiculous. I hope the season 3 will be as creepy as the first few eps of season 1.
The Higurashi creep factor is gone as soon as you find out that Higurashi was Groundhog Day with borderline psychotic lolis.
It’s too bad that Takano’s squad was reduced to Hogan’s Heroes nazis in the last arc tho.
I thought the first season of ZnT was pretty bad already – mostly by virtue of being boring and bland – so I can’t fathom whichever way they managed to think a second season would be a good idea… much less a THIRD season.
Beyond that, second Haruhi and moar Higu can only be a Good Thing ™. The chances of Suck on those are Low.
Because my dear friend its based on a novel series that is popular, just like Haruhi, FMP or Shanna.
Did you think any of those are original? no and that is the reason it was animated in the first place (just like all those eroge games) but then you have the very important question if they are adapting the source correctly or incorrectly, in ZnT2 they utterly dropped out the entire bit where Louise have to deal with Saito apparent death, her search for him along with Siesta and a lot of stuff that shown character growth, the reason they drop it seem to be lacking time and maybe because the idiots at J.C. Staff want a light ecchi harem comedy and ditch everything that elevates it from being hentai without the actual censored sex bits.
And that is the reason I am not going to bother with the 3rd season because I am not expecting then to animate the serious part that composed that part.
Animated adaptation of Disappearance is very likely. I bet on Bamboo Leaf Rhapsody and Snow Mountain Syndrome as side chapter for completion sake.

Side chapter? Bamboo Leaf Rhapsody is a key part of the story, and an integral part of the Disappearance storyline. Given that, and the fact it appeared in the advertising material a while back, I’d say it’s the first episode we’re going to see.
I wonder if we will have a return of the Killer Loli SOS Brigade in blog form. I wonder.
