I think this is a bad sign for spring 2009 if K-ON is this popular.

  1. Obvious fakes are obvious.

  2. Amazing how many fake subs can be produced in such a short period of time….

  3. Trolls. Lots of trolls. In the past two days I have viewed deliberately messed up files of Soul Eater, K-On! (twice) and Queen’s Blade. See http://kurogane.animeblogger.n.....k-on-subs/ for more on this. The consensus in those comments is that the K-On torrents listed are all fakes.

  4. Three hours nothing, half of those were within 3 minutes. Trolling is one thing, but that complete disregard for the viewers intelligence is just insulting. Anyone actually check any of those? Were they episodes of House again?

  5. House? That’s a good show. Probably considerably better than a show named after that asshole stuffed toy on Bleach…

  6. No. At least the one I partially downloaded was a blank video with no sound. The RSS feed caught and started the download automatically. When I looked, I was downloading several of them at the same time. =\
Chihiro even made a post about the troll in their site. Most of them where from nya, and almost all of them at the same minute, so it’s likely the work a single troller. Anyway, thank god this torrents where already deleted. Now to wait for the real ones. =]

  7. Hey, I just realized that my Gravitar icon finally works on your site, since you got the new layout. Good jorb!

  8. I’m glad I tossed up this post! I don’t have to figure it out myself. One of the few perks of being a blogger. Now I can use my bandwidth for something more important– day trading Asian stocks! Oh who am I kidding… off to watch Da Capo

  9. The Coalguys one is real in the sense that it has the K-ON A/V tracks. The subtitles on the other hand….

  10. Da Capo? OH NO YOU DON’T…

  11. I can’t tell whether watchers actually like a moe show with guitars or they like to troll KyoAni/Lucky Star fans. O_o

  12. In some cases *cough*coalguys*cough*, the fakesubs were better then the actual subs.

  13. I think g.g. made a troll post at some point with some of the Japanese dubbed House episode subbed in English, XD.

    So, any of those real?

  14. A bit late of a joke for April fool. Yet somehow I have a feeling of dread for this season…

  15. “House? That’s a good show. Probably considerably better than a show named after that asshole stuffed toy on Bleach…”

House is a good show and the first episode of K-ON was great. People compare it to Lucky Star and, while I enjoyed the show, K-ON’s started off a hell of a lot better than Lucky Star. Also, awesome OP and ED.

Phantom seems like it’s going to be the best parts of Daughter of Twenty Faces with better animation and music, as long as BEE TRAIN doesn’t stray from the source material to screw it up.

  16. K-ON was alright. (Great opening/ending) but Queen’s Blade might be one of the greatest, entertaining trainwrecks I will ever see judging from what my friend told me today when he called me. Exploding tits?! In the first episode!? How can you even top that this season?

  17. I only got two minutes into it, but not because I thought it was bad. I’m in despair! Another show of three week WS delay has left me in despair! Now to cleanse my hard drive of the horrid PAS taint and play the waiting game…

  18. K-ON! is exactly what you expect a slice-of-life comedy from KyoAni to be. A known quantity. High production values, standard troupe of archetypes, light and fluffy, but consistently better than average too.

Queen’s Blade is LEGENDARY QUALITY. The number of top-draw voice actresses competing for attention against their own characters’ breasts boggles the mind.

  19. Obviously people weren’t done with the April Fools’ Day fun.
Just watched the REAL CoalGuy’s translation of ep 1. It was better than I expected. I absolutely loved the Krauser II reference.

  20. K-ON! is good, not great, just good. The animation style irks me a bit because its the kind of style production houses use because they want to save money, if you ever notice when a character is completely devoid of shade, thats what i’m talking about.
But if you don’t even try to attempt to blog about Queen’s Blade, then, well…shame on you, its going to be the biggest train wreck in known history, especially with all that amazing voice talent…man, at some scenes the mouths didn’t even move, it’s going to be epic on an unknown scale.

  21. I laughed at K-ON! ep. 1 quite a bit, but I couldn’t help it. Even if it is a known quantity I still enjoyed it. The animation is good enough as you would expect from KyoAni and it focuses on the comedy unlike MUNTO! I’m going to watch it.

  22. Re: Queen’s Blade:
I decided to open this up and jump a random point to see what was going on. I saw a bunny girl voiced by the wrathful loli use hands made out of her hair to squeeze jets of acid from her breasts, melting another girl’s sword (and more importantly, clothes). Looks like we might just have a contender for best of 2009 here, if it doesn’t usher in a new era of broadcast censorship laws.

That’s just the art style. Look at the facial expressions. That’s big animation $$$ and talent right there.

  24. GHR’s comment above got me to do some research… heck of a line up for Queen’s Blade.
