Afterschool Tea Time… is AFTERSCHOOL!!!

(So what happens when there’s no more afterschool? I’m scared. Hold me.)

Yui ironing her tights would definitely be a Yui being Yui moment… only it seems too industrious for her. It almost should be Yui dreaming of Yui ironing tights but she’s really rolling around the floor asleep and drooling on a delicious-looking pillow.

(I need a ruling on this. Tights or bare thigh might? Which one do you prefer? Is there a clear answer like meido? Or is more decisive like melonpan vs. DFC?)

Is All Girl Summer Fun Band the real life Western version of Afterschool Tea Time? I feel like… yes, yes they are. Completely sappy songs about common everyday objects? Check. Upbeat, happy, and maple syrupy sweet? Check. Can’t play instruments all that well, can’t sing all that well, and can’t properly volume control all that well? Check, check, and check. The only thing missing? Sidetails, ponytails, Azu-nyan, tea time, Sawa-chan costume raping, Ui, Nodoka-chan, cakii, and tights. So we’re almost there.

Gotta say that there’s nothing really less exciting than an anime about nothing… with a plot about nothing. The whole episode is about the girls killing time at school. Maybe slice-of-life is a bit too slice-of-life-ish. Can we get a zombie attack, giant robot, bunny girl, Glenn Beck rally, or meido involved somehow?

I admit. I choked up a bit. A bit sentimental. Yes, it is slowly sinking into me as well that as non-eventual K-fucking-On! can be, it’s been the background noise in my anime watching the past year. Gonna miss it. Haven’t enjoyed a high school life series as much as this since Azumanga. Not that there’s a lot of series that follows a group of girls all through high school…

Afterschool Tea Time being Afterschool Tea Time in not being able to start up their recording on time. I once heard that California time is whatever scheduled time plus fifteen minutes. I think Afterschool Tea Time time is whatever scheduled time plus two hours.

(If that’s the case, I have a new member for them… Kanon‘s Natsuki! She made poor non-knee kissing Junichi wait in the cold for what, four hours?)

I’m convinced Mugi has been spiking the tea with cocaine. Only way to explain how addicted the girls are to it. And, yes, Mugi has the resources to have been coking up their tea for all four years… I can imagine Mio shivering and coming up to Mugi one day begging for more tea… with Mugi giving her a smirk and leading poor Mio into her room. And then the ominous music plays as the door closes.

(This. Would. Be. Awe. Some.)

Such a Kyoto filler idea… hey, let’s have the girls clean the club room! Reminds me of the filler episode for Haruhi that basically… was about nothing. A filler episode about nothing in an anime about nothing yet will probably be a best-selling BD… feels like a sign of the apocalypse.

(So if the girls don’t clean the room well enough, they won’t get their security deposits back?)

Not sure why Mugi wants the old notes… can we speculate? Like she plans on making a scrapbook? Going to do lines on them? Smush them up in water and then eat them? Ritsu and Yui are actually Whispered and the notes constitute plans on a cold fusion reactor?

So hilarious if the tape ran out with all the meta stuff that they’re recording before they actually start their final memorial recording. That would just be pure Afterschool Tea Time being Afterschool Tea Time.

(You’d think that a rock band club would be recording more of their sessions… mmm… I’m positive Mugi has cameras everywhere in any case.)

(And, seriously, tape? Is this 1995?)

She’s saying “strange~~” for twintail, sidetail, short, and long and “this is it!” for the namesake. But all five other styles are better than her default one.
