thelastguardian has started a translation project for the Haruhi Suzumiya novels. Still in its infant stages, there’s only like two chapters done.
i already read the first 2, wonder if there could be any collaboration projects to make it quicker. ;p
Well I find it quite quick… Yesterday there wasn’t any translation for the third chapter :) and the first I saw the translation, a few day ago, they were still at chapter one.
Anyway, it’s a great chance for people who can’t understand japanese ( like me ) to finally read one of these light novel ^^
Oh yeah.
Now if someone could translate the Shana novels, I’d be happy.
Translation through the first 110 pages or so of Yuuutsu will be pretty easy, as the novel mirrors episodes one and two (two and three) up to that point almost exactly. Beyond that they’ll actually have to read the kanji.
Fucking kanji.
Edit: after skimming the work they have done on the project, the above is incorrect.
Kanji rocks. It’s the only reason why I can somehow read Jap manga.
^ kudos to that, i basically rely on the Kanji (and wt little hirigana i noe) to read jap stuff
what happened above??? why such space? delete this exorbitant space, and fix this problem please!
Try to see the links.
You will believe too!

you know, i was looking for the translation on amazon, all they have is the anime soundtrack. i was mightily pissed. how long do ye reckon the translation will take?
It’s great that you’re doing it, but there’s already a project completely translated.
