Have a fanboy/fangirl in your life that you just don’t know what to give them for a present? Confused over what’s in and what’s out with the otaku crowd these days, and don’t have a lot of time left to shop? Well, then, this gift guide is for you.

(Quick disclosure. None of these products paid money to be listed here, though I wish they had.)

Video iPod. After all, nothing says, “Awesome Christmas present!” and “eye exam” better than a 2.5 inch screen to read subtitles from.

“I’m a Torch” T-Shirt. If you want to give out clothes, this T-shirt is guaranteed to be a nice upgrade for any fanboy (Perry Ellis dress shirts are for losers), especially if he’s still wearing that old Jubei-chan T-shirt. And for a companion gift…

Guren by Noiji Itoh. Every Shana fanboy will want one of these artbooks featuring lovely images of the melonpan otome for their coffee table. And why stop here?

Pre-Order for Shakugan no Shana for PS2. If this were a h-game, I think it would outsell Halo 3. I’d probably pick up a dozen copies myself.

La Verite DVD Boxset. Honestly, if the fanboy in your life doesn’t have this already, they’re probably not a real fanboy.

Sephiroth Pillow. Perfect present for any fanboy who uses “Sephiroth666” as their IRC nick.

Fate Stay Night Schedule Book. Nothing says “I’m an on-time fanboy” than a schedule book featuring the characters from everyone’s favorite h-game. Perfect for the fanboys still in grade school– they’ll be the coolest kids in their class.

NANA Live Action DVD. Perfect present for any fangirl, non-traditional fanboys, or fanboys who are just whipped.

Pre-Order for Naruto Ultimate Battle for PSP. The must-have game for PSP. I can’t wait!

Chii Earmuffs. Perfect for that fangirl with a USB jack and S-video out.

Yanoman Display. Perfect for anybody with the first name “Moy” and last name “Ism.”

1 Terabytes of Storage. For all the legal downloads any fanboy is sure to accumulate. Honestly, 1 terabyte seems on the low side. For people who want to give the finest, why not a 3 terabyte Fibre Channel storage system with 1 gig of cache? I’m sure any fanboy/fangirl would appreciate this over jewerly or gift certificates to Black Angus. Speaking of food…

USB Noodle Strainer. Encourages good nutrition for fanboys, and they can cook while they browse those yuri boards on 2chan. Maybe toss in some ramen too as a stocking stuffer.

Almond Crunch Pocky. This stuff is fantastic. They took Pocky and — BAM! — kicked it up a notch with almonds. Almond Crunch Pocky makes a most delicious present for any living dolls participating in a Highlander-like game that might be residing in your house.

Housemaid Sex Club. Whoops. How’d this get in here?

Keroro Gunso Season 1 VCD R3. Someone, please, license this show. On second thought, someone not named “4kids” please license this show.

Genshiken Figure Collection 1. Nothing says otaku than having little figurine otaku in a Yanoman display.

Jing, King of Bandits GN. I’m slipping. I have no joke for something that can be abbrevaited as “King of BJ.”

Misato Bathtub Toy. I can’t think of a better bubblebath toy. Though, I’m surprised there’s no Rei version… that could become the next Tickle Me Elmo: Bathe with Me Rei.

Firefox. Free, and cute too boot!

Trip to Tokyo. Enjoy the sights and sounds of one of Asia’s most interesting cities. Historic temples. Scenic Japanese gardens. Hawt nightlife. Of course, none of these matters to the fanboy/fangirl as they’ll be too busy lurking in the doujinshi shops in Akihabara or taking pictures of the cosplayers at Harujuku. Then they can take that nekomimi train.

Vampire Hunter D Novelization. I started reading it after seeing Rei use the eye power so many times in Pani Poni Dash, and the book has been more readable than I expected. It’s a fast read, and I think this book would make for a halfway decent book report for a middle school English class. Actually… for a better present for the bookworm/fanboy… try…

Howl’s Moving Castle. A surprisingly short book with zero nekomimi meido. You have been warned.

Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou 2005 Calender. Nevermind the fact it’s, uh, for 2005. YKK always ages well… think of this as wine… a vintage fanboy gift. Or just get the Hello Kitty 2006 Calender. Alpha… Hello Kitty… what’s the difference?

Nagasarate Airantou volume 6. Best manga series to not have its own anime series. Maybe just I want this… mmm… what would I want as a fanboy? Mmm… actually, this is very easy.

Evil Belldandy. Yes, I’ve been a good boy. ^^
