Full Moon wo Sagashite has been licensed by Viz. The new English title will be “Searching for Dragonballs.” In other news, Tokyopop has licensed the Seikai novels, and, yes, I did backflips when I first heard the news. If they grab the Shana novels, I’ll do a backflip with a mouthful of melonpan. Lastly, last week was CES, and it means new TVs. Yes, those awesome “new” 42 inch plasma screens are now obsolete. Blu-Ray is pushing a new 1080p standard, which is equivalent to 1920×1080 resolution on a computer monitor. Most current HDTVs are only capable of 1080i, which is equivalent to 1280×720. Of course, zero anime has yet to be aired in 1080i let alone 1080p, but it is a tantalizing possibity.

  1. Hmm… I was under the impression that Kamichu! has aired in some HDTV resolution, because one fansubbing group (MEYRIN) distributed 1280×720 versions (see http://anidb.info/perl-bin/ani.....xpandall=1)

  2. Kamichu was aired in standard 480p. Some fansubbing groups create “fake HDTV” where they use 3:2 filters during encoding to balloon the resolution. Alot of DVD players and higher end TVs do this natively now.

  3. Nice site, u know ^^ SD59SDV21S65D20SRD89S6
