top ten posts for when i have nothing to post

Been busy lately, and I haven’t had a lot of time to watch anime let alone write about it. Unfortunately, the blog demands to be fed… but… with what?

Add to that the dead time between seasons, the dread of having to start writing another thin slicing post (not because of the time it takes to write, I enjoy that part… I dread watching the crappy shows… Moe-tan*shudders*), the lack of Gundam 00 and Clannad, and some old fashioned laziness (trying to get the secret ending to Revenant Wings)… I just have nothing to talk about. Amazing, hun?

Top Ten Posts for When I Have Nothing To Post

10. five images: haruka is amazing: I honestly couldn’t find enough amazing images of Haruka. There’s just not enough of them. I’m depressed just thinking of that my Haruka folder hasn’t surpassed the 1,000 image mark yet.

9. minami-ke 14: I’d love to write this post, but, for now, I’ll just try to control my temper that Da Capo 2 is getting a second season whereas Minami-ke is just getting a quasi-remake. If I were in charge of anime production, I probably would have given Minami-ke 100+ episodes and Da Capo just 26… but… noooooo.

8. levels of manliness: I thought about this one after my quasi-controversial choice of awarding manliest man to Taniguchi. It would be a 1 to 10 scale, but only logarithmic, much like the Richter Scale. 1 would probably be Haruka, 10 would probably be Kamina, with Taniguchi getting a 10.1 and Mako-cakes getting a -0.5. Yes, I’m well aware of negative numbers and logarithms… Mako-cakes broke my scale. Yes, three Minami-ke paragraphs in a row.

7. what other people thought of series x, and how i disagree with them: Because it’s always easier to ctrl-v other people’s writings than it is to come up with original thought and write a good post about the series myself.

6. momentum for january: These are like my go-to posts when I have a lot of random stuff to say but not enough for a bunch of individual posts. Sadly, I have nothing to say. I think it’ll be the shortest momentum post ever, with just Wolf and Spice or Spicy Wolf or whatever it’s called now and Kemeko DX.

5. kemeko dx: I started writing a post about Kemeko DX, and it’s like 3 lines long. I can’t think of anything else to add. I’ll share the bulk of it with you here: hawt nubile female pilots ugly mecha; harem hijinks ensues.

4. sports figures as seiyuu: I think Bandai blew it by not casting Gus Johnson as Kyon for the English version of Haruhi Suzumiya. Sure, it wouldn’t be the same as the sarcastic, wise-cracking Japanese Kyon, but Gus Johnson Kyon would give a play-by-play narrative of Haruhi costume-raping Mikuru that would break space and time itself. Yes, I’m disappointed he didn’t get cast for Kamina either. Other sports figures that would also work out well: Shannon Sharpe as Potemayo. Charles Barkley as Giroro. Peyton Manning as Miharu. Chris Berman as Graham “Green” Acre.

3. anime chuck norris would like: I’ve had this gag post in my back pocket for a while, and I could never write a version I was happy with. What would he like? Manly anime? Would he watch Gurren Lagann despite the flowery Nia arc in the middle? Or would he prefer something out-of-the-blue, like Nanoha A’s? Or should I just make the list out of the most ill-fitting series, like “Chuck Norris likes Kanon, but Chuck Norris doesn’t like Full Metal Alchemist. Chuck Norris loves Shugo Chara, and Chuck Norris pines for Ouran in Blu Ray.” I’ll probably get sued for that post, so no. (Disclaimer: I honestly have no clue what Chuck Norris’ preference is towards anime, and everything written here is in good jest and complete fiction.)

2. top ten ways to bully kotomi: I think this gimmick post is the easiest to write and will get enough traffic to generate bountiful amounts of “quota exceeded” messages. So, of course, I’m not doing it. Why? In trying to find acts of bullying of Kotomi, I’m sure to get derailed. And you wouldn’t get a post, let alone this current lame one.

1. top ten posts for when i have nothing to post: Anti-climatic, no?

  1. They took Minami-ke and amped the fanservice… which has me worried, but Fujioka getting broken at the onsen was something that couldn’t be missed. And Uchida… poor girl.

But you know, Mako-cakes really HAS no way back, not when he has to wear the hairclip just to be acknowledged. Of course, whta’s worse is that he fits SO very easily into that role, and looks more womanly than Chiaki does.

  2. And I was hoping for a post wholly about the Sumeragi & Ms Wang fan service shot with the ending sponsors of this week’s Gundam 00… well one can hope.

  3. 10^-0.5=0.3162…. (Mako****)
    10^1=10 (Haruka)
    10^10.1=1.2589e+10 (Taniguchi)

I don’t see how Mako**** broke the scale, unless you really meant log(-0.5) = log(0.5)+i(2n+1)pi/(ln10)

  4. You could always just post Taniguchi’s rock version of Koi no Minoru Densetsu

  5. What really amuses me about this post is the ‘moe:bullying’ tag.

  6. “Charles Barkley as Giroro.”
Gotcha one better. Frank Caliendo as Charles Barkley as Giroro, as Jim Rome as Kururu, as George W Bush as Keroro, as William Shatner as Dororo, and as John Madden as Tamama.

  7. >> Haesslich: “They took Minami-ke and amped the fanservice”
Well yes and no. I’ve yet to see the first episode of Okawari, but the chatter on the interwebs seems to say they are sticking close to source material. I’ve seen some screenshots compared with the manga pages and have to agree.

  8. Haruka’s melonpan was epic.

  9. “7. what other people thought of series x, and how i disagree with them: Because it’s always easier to ctrl-v other people’s writings than it is to come up with original thought and write a good post about the series myself.”

I, for one, welcome our would love to see a post like that, if only because you’re good at articulating your opinion, and contrasting that with other people’s perspectives always makes for an interesting read.

Also, I laughed at #1, in spite of myself. :P

  10. They didn’t remake Minami-ke exactly, it’s just another studio doing the continuation.

  11. >> What really amuses me about this post is the ‘moe:bullying’ tag.

On this note, moe:twincest also only has one entry. Looks like something else to do next time there’s nothing to post.

  12. >>They didn’t remake Minami-ke exactly, it’s just another studio doing the continuation.

Ah, Thanks for answering my question I think I asked awhile back.

  13. Well, you could always share some of the sub-1000 image collection with us in a collage post. I don’t think anyone would complain, nor would more ample moe twincest imagery hurt either. xD

As for January momentum…Uhhh we got to see Ep 1 of the new Macross..it kicked ass…now we have to wait till spring for more. .>.<

  14. There was less nudity, Northernstar, compared to this… and the joke of the flat Kana fell by the wayside due to the actual figure that Fujioka got to ogle here.

Still, I approve of how the Touma/Mako-chan pair double-teamed Fujioka to break him more efficiently, even if I find their figures to be a tad… off, compared to the older style.

  15. AM I THE ONLY ONE HERE NOTICING THAT DISTURBINGLY HOT PICTURE OF MAKO-CAKES IN THE MIDDLE OF THE POST THAT’S MAKING ME QUESTION MY SEXUAL PREFERENCE???

  16. “Charles Barkley as Giroro.”
Gotcha one better. Frank Caliendo as Charles Barkley as Giroro, as Jim Rome as Kururu, as George W Bush as Keroro, as William Shatner as Dororo, and as John Madden as Tamama.

Frank Caliendo Jim Rome is EPIC.

  17. >>AM I THE ONLY ONE HERE NOTICING THAT DISTURBINGLY HOT PICTURE OF MAKO-CAKES IN THE MIDDLE OF THE POST THAT’S MAKING ME QUESTION MY SEXUAL PREFERENCE???

    You’re not the only one…

  18. He’s not Jun or even Mizuho-level yet, which means you’re probably one of the few questioning yours. Now, if he was Jun Watarase or Mizuho Miyanokouji, that’d be one thing… but he’s not there yet.

It just means you’re a shotacon, that’s all.

  19. Suddenly that top picture makes sense when looking at #1. A futile cycle indeed~

And that Mako-chan picture is criminally awesome. :D

  20. Needs more Merciful Meido Minami.

  21. just watched ep1 of Okami To Koshinryo, by far the best of the new series

  22. I agree with 0rion about #7. I’d love to see that one happen! Make it so Jason. Make it so. After #10 of course. :P

    3. anime chuck norris would like

Chuck Norris invent anime after he finished roundhouse kicking the entire 72 Dolphins’ offensive line in the head. …. I think that’s the bad soup from dinner talking… back to watching my Kings beat up on the Magic. :D

  23. MAKO MAKES SUCH A GOOD trap. so feminine like bridget so feminine makes no sense.

  24. 8. levels of manliness: I thought about this one after my quasi-controversial choice of awarding manliest man to Taniguchi.

To be honest, I agree more with some of the previous posts. Wouldn’t Mizuho have broken that scale far more than Mako-chan? Granted, Mako-chan has his merits, but… I’m surprised that Mizuho did not even seem to receive a mention.

    And, yes, I am a Mizuho-backer. :3
