So they’re playing the video game that the anime is based off of inside the anime that is based off of the game. Oi. I’m confused.
A fun episode built on Jil’s easy to manipulate nature and Kaaya’s emerging selfishness, deviousness, and arcade game addiction.

Yeah, I cracked up during the montage where everyone tries out the game and constantly gets Jil killed. It’s almost like pass the bong with Jil as the bong. At some point, Jil’s going to remember what to do correctly each level, right?
(I’ve said this before, and I’ll say it again. Tower of Druaga needs more ropers. I think Clannad could use a few too.)
I still haven’t figured out who this character is, but I like her outfit. It’s like Cecile’s from the last Code Geass R2 episode plus a necktie. Bravos all around.
Not sure what I enjoyed more: Kaaya’s cute deviousness or Jil’s utter lack of common sense. They go well together, I think. The fake fever bit was good, but I was hoping that she would ask for ancient moss at the top of the tower. Kukuku.
So Fatima wears a towel when she bathes, but Coopa’s nakkid? What? What happened to the melonpan-luvin’ Gonzo we enjoy so such? Is Tower of Druaga made by bizarro Gonzo? Maybe working on Lucky Star corrupted Shoji Gatoh more than we thought. I can’t wait for the next edition of Full Metal Panic where both Ren and Chidori go down a few cup sizes while they discuss the best ways to eat a choco coronet while Sagara gets a job at the local ANIMATE. OH SHI-
(Though even though she’s the youngest, Coopa’s the most sensible and smartest out of all of them. It’s almost like she has a degree from Columbia MIT.)

Mmmm… I have no clue what three betrayals await Jil (if Shoji Gatoh has the same wicked since of humor that I do, Kaaya as a trap would be the one of the betrayals), but I can guess at three betrayals for Lulu:
1. Rolo backstabs him by making out with Millay, who teaches Rolo “how to appreciate women.” Chika “Suigintou” Midarezaki is seen furiously taking notes.
2. Kallen, so distraught about turning down her possible only chance at making Lulu appreciate women, finds confront in seducing C.C. by smothering herself with marinara sauce. I’m hoping for a Pay-Per-View event.
3. Lulu finds a DVD where Nunnally tries to set a record for “most men in an hour” and discovers, to his horror, that the title was really “most Black Knights in an hour.” Images of Ohgi and Toudou will be the last things that run through his mind before the bullet does.
The legendary cheat guide. No fair! Shouldn’t they play fair and square? Though I liked how there’s a random Jawa manning an old school Japanese shop complete with ramune and gashapon toys in the middle of some hideous magical tower infested with ropers.
So what’s the exchange rate between these coins and Thoreni silver coins?
(Actually, thinking about it a bit more, I wouldn’t mind if Sagara started working for ANIMATE if it meant that Tess would get attacked by reindeer.)

The character that keeps on popping up (with a possible connection to Neeba) is labelled in the credits as ‘simply’ a ‘succubus’, though there are hints that she might actually be more than that and *actually* be the sorceress that defeated Kii, which led to Gil going up the tower to rescue her in the original Druaga game. Incidentally, the succubus is voiced by Yukana, who also voiced C.C and Tessa (from FMP).

I like this Lucky Metal Panic idea.
It IS made by Bizarro Gonzo, because it is AWESOME! Or perhaps the Gonzo from post-Gankutsuou time to now has been the Bizarro Gonzo, and the awesome real Gonzo was abducted by alien time traveling mariachis for a while.
this ep was quite cute in a way, compared to some previous eps which got me nodding off.. so all in all, i think its pretty inconsistent.

It’s pretty obvious that one of the betrayals will come from Kaaya. She has too many secrets and would even go as far as manipulating Jil to get what she wants. Although the “betrayal” would probably not be something she wants to do, but more towards forced to due to circumstances.
I could totally finish that dungeon in one sitting – and they say I have no attention span and get sidetracked too easily.

1) Betrayed by his brother, who gives up Fatima for Kaaya.
2) Betrayed by Fatima, who gives up men for ropers.
3) Betrayed by Druaga, who only drops a Hi-Potion after 99+ levels of hijinks.
