“… she pressed her lips on his strongly… “

Can someone who has read the novels please tell me if it is more like Harry Potter, Mabaraho, or some trashy romance novel with Fabio on the cover?

I have no clue what Zero no Tsukaima is supposed to be after seeing this snippet. In any case, JC Staff is failing at the anime if it were supposed to be trashy Fabio-class novel. From 4chan:

Siesta moved her face back a little, and gazed at Saito’s face with moist eyes. And, once again, she pressed her lips on his strongly. From there, Siesta laid her weight on top of Saito, and pushed him down onto the floor. With the fireplace burning brightly in the background, Siesta’s black hairs moved. They rustled and tickled Saito’s face. The gentle girl who always stayed by his side. As if she made her mind up about something, Siesta closed her eyes, unhooked her dress, and began taking off her top. W-wait, as Saito tried to say, his lips were blocked by her kiss. The kiss was sweet yet intense, after becoming all mixed up and tangled in each other, Siesta blushed and placed her hand on Saito’s chest. In that position, Siesta leaned her body against Saito’s, and laid her lips on top of his, over and over again, as if to stroke his lips. Then, she lifted her lips slighty, and she whispered, “I love you.”

(In any case, Siesta is love.)

Appendix: Thanks to Kaito for the link to the novel summaries… I’m blown away reading them:

Saito then bit Louise’s earlobes lightly, causing her to lose strength, and pushed her down onto the boat. Louise’s mind is a mess, but still manages to keep Saito’s hand from entering the gaps between her skirt and shirt… Even her mouth was sealed by his kiss and his “I love you so much, Louise”. As she tried to lift her knees and aim for his crotch, Saito shifted his mouth from her lips to her ear, and whispered loving words to her, causing her to go flop again. Before long, Louise lost all resistence. When she opened her eyes again to look up…

(Basically, JC Staff is NOT delivering the goods. Not even close.)

  3. Read the novel summaries
    ’nuff said.

  4. Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat?

  5. Drunk Siesta is win.

  6. Women’s p0rn!

  7. Thanks for the links guys.

    >> Women’s p0rn!

I always thought that high end home decoration magazines were women’s pr0n… :)

  8. Someone dial 1-800-Kyo-Ani!

Damn, Japan should have a “Only to be animated by Kyoto Animation” law to protect the good stuff.

The novels better come translated on this side of the ocean. I do agree however that the “romance” goes the deep end…

  9. yup just found that link earlier today, shucks the anime wont go through all the story

  10. I just had to highlight this portion, because it is simply too amusing.

“I’ll finish with something more lighthearted, here’s Louise and Siesta’s “Saito kiss competition” ranking they had in vol.8:

    Louise: 5 times
Siesta: 7 times (actually, more like a few dozen times, but Louise was being a sore loser and said “all kisses in one day count as one!”) + tongue ninja.gif

Oh, Saito also kissed Henrietta (2 times, if we use Louise’s “rule” ^^; ), Kirche (1 time), and Jessica (1 time). In exchange, he got kicked in the crotch about 13 times across 8 volumes.”

  11. haha, don’t thank me.
Thank Emmanuel who posted a comment over at Random Curiosity.
    Just sharing the love~~~ ;)

  12. Damn you J. C. Staff, you look now like GONZO

    And the world ends here!!!

  13. I saw those kiss counts in the forum summuries. Hahaha, Siesta kicking ass and taking names. Man, Saito lucky bastard…sort of…well he would be if he had any feeling in his left nut.

  14. Dang, I thought that white space was actual white space, until I highlighted it…
I don’t know about Utawarerumono, but this makes Fate/Stay Night and Tonagura look like Pokemon. Hilarious in a freakish way.

With opponents like Siesta and Kirche, no wonder Louise carries a whip…

  15. There is no justice in this world! As it seems that hope is all but lost for this material to make it on screen, we should commence praying for novel translations/licensing. JC Staff, you phail!

  16. omg… the injustice done to the novels

kyoto animation staff should not be allowed to sleep, they must repair anime 24/7

  17. In the OP, there’s a scene where Saito kisses Louise on the boat. Maybe it’s a reference to that part of the novel? Much like Yuki’s snow scene in the novel and TMoHS OP but it wasn’t animated in the series. But if the show takes off, there’s a good chance of it being shown in the second season.

  18. …FUCK i just read all the ZnT summaries that Sushi-Y posted and I swear I will kill if no one translates the novels to English. Jesus fucking christ.

  19. OH MY GOD. I… don’t know what to say. What a travesty.

Why aren’t we getting this in the anime?! The apparent nerfing of Saito’s sword skills was somewhat excusable, but what the hell man. So disappointing.
    T_T

  20. I have to wonder who’s buying these novels in Japan.

  21. I tell you, Saito gets to be (wait, he IS) a total pimp in novels. A queen who’s also an ubermage, his ubermage-and-S&M-fan of a master, said master’s friend, a maid and some other girls waiting in the wings.

  22. Saito needs to give Hakuoro a call and get some advice on how to handle his harem.

Saito’s harem has a lot potiential if he just get louise to get along with the rest of the girls better.

The new girl in the preview is Jessica who is Seista’s sister.

Imagine the possiblity of bein smother by those 2 sisters :D

  23. Is it okay to want to throw the guys from J.C.Staff into a cage containing Dokuro-chan, lock it, and throw away the key?

I kind of doubt that the Zero no Tsukaima novels will ever get licensed due to the anime.. Even though the novels look very promising, if there’s nothing to pull in the customers (eg a connection to a very popular anime such as Haruhi) then they won’t make money and they have to take these kinds of things in to account. If another company remakes ZnT peroperly (although KyoAni is probably the only one that could pull it off properly) then the novels stand a far higher chance of making it here. But even that probably wouldn’t be enough..

The only chance – at the current time – of an online translation is if Baka-Tsuki decide to do it but the only translator (the only people who truly count..) to even post in the the Future Project Poll thread concerning ZnT seems to place it very low in his priorities… He just listed four points that he suspects that companies focus on when deciding on licensing and states his belief that ZnT will be licensed soon. It seems that Seikai no Senki is more likely as the next project choice even though ZnT has more votes. :(

You can find the thread, starting with his post (99) here: http://www.baka-tsuki.net/foru.....8;start=99

  24. Since the previous post is stating that Baka-Tsuki is probably NOT doing the ZnT Novels, I’m placing my hopes on KuroNeko, who’s fansubbing the anime (although their grammar can use a little improvement). They may be doing the Novels as soon as they can find a translator for it. http://www.k-neko.net/?p=65#comments for more information. (just scroll up)

  25. o…k…

    Nice harem though.

  26. I see no reason why a meido ero-moment is not to be included in the anime. Siesta is the hawt. Fan abuse! -.-

  27. Krufuast, what I mean is that the current translators for Baka-Tsuki seem to have little interest in ZnT (hoopefully a some will change their minds if they read the summaries/translations by Sushi-Y) but Onizuka-GTO (the guy supervising nearly everything) is looking out for some that are interested. I think we need everyone to go out and demand that the current translators even try it before listing their unrealistic opinions on licensing. ^^

That or spam hundreds of forums in the search for people who can read japanese and write english who hold interest in translating ZnT. ^^

Still, I’d place more hope in Baka-Tsuki than KuroNeko.

If no-one ends up translating them and they don’t get licensed, I’ll just end up waiting a few (several) years until I can read Japanese properly..

  28. Good grief I feel dirty.

So it is a trashy Fabio-class “romance” novel. On the one hand I can see how the male demographic clamoring for a more faithful interpretation, but on a practical level how much of that could you get away with on TV? If it is as racy as you have implied and many of us here would balk at all anime being labeled as p0rn, precisely what are we advocating here? I hope that if by some miracle of fate or happy accident that a more faithful anime is delivered that the novels and the more faithful anime will be licensed between any elections here in the US or any other political football prone nation.

As much as Siesta is Love I am not dying to see her throw herself at the doormat.

  29. Actually it is whipping boy not doormat :D

On the other hand. The story does have a lot of deep drama with the dragon knights and the villain using LOGH Reinharts tactic aginst invaders.

  30. Whipping boy is hardly a level up form doormat unless you’re into that sort of stuff. When I think whipping I always conjure up images of Roots.

Oh really now, well in that case I would gladly allow the more objectional material to be cut out for Dragon Knights and warefare at the strategic and tactical levels.

By the way Xellos-_^ Have you gotten to ep 84 in LOGH? Any thoughts on this radical change in the balance of galactic power?

  31. >.> The plan is that Kuroneko, Baka-Tsuki, and Sushi-Y might all work together on a novel translation. (The idea for “let’s work together” I believe is mostly being pushed for by the last.) Let’s hope it happens.

  32. is this from the actual manga or a doujin? seems different from the anime…
the anime is more harrypotter-ish + some fanservice, but not like this..
