Well it’s about TIME!
In the immortal words of Gunhaver, “Rock, rock on!”
Now, if you excuse me, I need to travel back to last year, and take the slow path back to 2010.
So…..wasn’t season 2 already announced? I feel like I’m missing something.
But it’s not going to be the “Dissaperance” like they had planed before. It’s a new story line, basically, a new Haruhi all together.

@Chumara: There has been so much false alarms, contradictory reports and ambiguous Newtype articles some of us are more than a little paranoid and jumpy.
Er, as I recall, we didn’t get a release date…
It’s not coming ’till at least next year, Jason…
Bookmark this post. I call that it will be on the Winter schedule, and something Haruhi-related (either a series announcement, the Volume 10 release announcement, or the first episode) will take place on or about December 18th (anyone who’s read Volume 4 will likely recognize that date). We’ll meet back here in a few months and see if I was right… ^_^

Yes, there is a new storyline, and yes it is going to be a new Haruhi. But those who read the novels already know that years ago…

Ehhh? We have new Haruhi? It doesn’t look much different to the novels. You’ve still got alternate!Haruhi and Yuki celebrating Christmas,so the events that cause these to happen will still be in it.

Alternate Haruhi in novel = New Haruhi, is what I was talking about… These is no change, KyoAni is just playing a joke on non-novel readers.

We don’t know this for certain. Canned Dogs could be correct, we don’t know yet.

Fall/Winter is when Clannad AS is airing, I believe. Only open spot is this July or next spring.
Why does Colder-season-Uniform Haruhi remind me of Takako Itsukushima from Otoboku?

Well it’s not really cold-weather haruhi, rather its alternate universe Haruhi.

Hm. Methinks they’ve got a FEW things to get through before they get to Kyonko. And, to be honest, I’d rather they not sell out to the fans too strongly. Think of the NEW memes that could be generated from new material! That means MOAR. And MOAR always == better.
So it turns out that this whole thing was just a way of selling more issues of Newtype.
No, it’s not “cancelled”. No, they’re not rewriting the script.
There has just been no new information released. Again.
