A very cute episode… de gesu~

(Count so far: Aka-chan [1], Chizuru [0], Mafuya [0], Minatsu [0], Ken [0])

“Let me fondle you for a bit, Chizuru.”

“Sure, go ahead.”

Well, they finally did an episode outside of the student council club room… only to have it in a single room on a train and a hotel. Traveling alone with four hawt women? (Or three hawt women and one lost child, depending on your perspective.) For Ken to not get any action, he must be either totally competent or gay. I’m not ruling out either.

(Okay, so Chizuru gives him the okay to fondle her… and… he doesn’t?! Behind all his bravado, Ken is either really, really incompetent, really, really gay, or both.)

(Train travel is highly underrated. There’s definitely some a romantic nostalgia component to it, and you don’t feel like a sardine in a tin can as on a plane. At the very least, I think the US could use more commuter trains, especially in cities like San Fran.)

image

Mafuya eating corn… one kernel at a time… I’m not sure if this is moe, creepy, or creepy moe. Ah, screw it, she gets a point. Creey moe is a top tier moe mode… I think.

(Count so far: Aka-chan [1], Chizuru [0], Mafuya [1], Minatsu [0], Ken [0])

image

Chizuru sleeps san clothing?! Point Chizuru. And I feel like Studio Deen let us down with Chizuru’s stripping scene… should have been more *censored* intense.

(Count so far: Aka-chan [1], Chizuru [1], Mafuya [1], Minatsu [0], Ken [0])

image

I think they are overdoing Mafuya’s stereotype… okay, she likes games. We get it. Let’s tone down the “Mafuya likes games” moments and tone up the creepy Mafuya eating single kernels of corn moments. Let’s make her a more robust character.

(I don’t think the creey single kernel corn eating and the gaming Mafuya make sense. I mean, eating single kernels of corn takes a lot of time… time she could be using to *censored* in Lineage, shout ethnic slurs at other players in Modern Warfare 2, or play Kane and Lynch. Oh wait, nevermind.)

image

Why are they traveling in their school uniforms? I want to see them in casual clothes. OTL. My quick thoughts on the rest of their luggage…

Aka-chan: I’m shocked that the Rubik’s cube was completed. That’s like finding out that Sarah Palin has a 168 IQ.

Minatsu: You just know she’s going to beat up a bunch of thugs for money. And, really, how can she play the poor girl stereotype when her sister has half of Akihabara in her bag? Or is that why she is so *censored*?

Mafuya: I’m terrified of women who overpack for trips. This should be on every guy’s checklist before they get married.

Chizuru: When I saw her Vaio laptop, I just thought, “Hi, I like turning other women into my personal pets and playthings. I’m Chizuru, and Windows 7 is my idea.”

Ken: He didn’t pack? Wha? Or was he planning on rooming with Echo of Death-niisan in Tokyo?

image

“It’s the ultimate item. It’s small, cheap, and filling.”

Is she talking about Ken’s *censored*? Does she get a point for *censored*? Oh, what the *censored*.

(Count so far: Aka-chan [1], *censored* [1], Mafuya [2], Minatsu [0], Ken [0])

image

Mafuya is quickly gaining points! I enjoyed her self-comparison to the weakest RPG character… she might not be a Thunder God Cid, but she’s at least an Agrias (or Cloud), especially when equipped with an chantage and a *censored*. Though Minatsu probably is Thunder God Cid.

(The original PS1 Final Fantasy Tactics was just one of the greatest games ever. It’s all the small touches that make it special, like the spotty localization, the insanely powerful Thunder God Cid, or how Cloud could use both male and female accessories in the game. See, I would expect Ramza to be able to equip female accessories as well…)

(Count so far: Aka-chan [1], Chizuru [1], Mafuya [3], Minatsu [0], Ken [0])

image

Just realized that Mafuya’s PSP has nekomini. I demand Mafuya be Keima’s next conquest in The World God Only Knows. Can you imagine Keima trying to woo Mafuya, only she’s too busy with her nekomini‘ed PSP to pay attention to him? That’s like the Snicker’s ice cream pie of delicious irony.

(Count so far: Aka-chan [1], Chizuru [1], Mafuya [4], Minatsu [0], Ken [0])

image

I’m kinda conflicted. Dynasty Warriors is so 2002. Maybe if it were Mafuya in Half Minute Hero, I would give her a point. It’s not like she doesn’t have enough points right now.

(Or is that Monster Hunter… mmm… damn, still not moe either way.)

image

Alright, one point for Aka-chan for getting squeezed by Chizuru (and also for Aka-chan willingly heading into the den of the beast, I mean, there was no doubt in my mind she would wind up in Chizuru’s bed after she announced that she doesn’t sleep alone), one point for Chizuru for her morning behavior, and one point for Minatsu for her “athletic” clothing choice.

The many faces of Chizuru.

I couldn’t stop laughing the last three minutes of the episode. My gosh, how could simply attaching a new ending particle to a sentence make it that much more awesome? Now I want to strangle Araragi for not requesting Senjougahara to end her sentences with “nya~” for a week. Also, Minatsu scores a point for the Southern belle outfit. I think Southern belle outfits need to be more common in anime, and definitely Mio could use one or two.

Speaking of which… have you seen this live action DSL? My gosh, they nailed it effects-wise and props-wise, but could they find actresses younger than 25? *censored*! And, for Oyashiro-sama’s sake, find a Ritsu who at least can act like she’s playing the drums… de gesu~

(Count so far: Aka-chan [2], Chizuru [2], Mafuya [4], Minatsu [2], Ken [0], Live Action Mio [0])

image

I’ll give Aka-chan a point for that cosplay. I’m sure Orange-kun would give her ten.

(Count so far: Aka-chan [3], Chizuru [2], Mafuya [4], Minatsu [2], Ken [0])

image

Mafuya’s moe is unstoppable this episode. That’s all I can say… the skull and crossbones is a nice touch for her ribbon, loose socks are an attention getter, and *censored* *censored* b-a-r-n-a-c-l-e-s *censored*.

(Count so far: Aka-chan [3], Chizuru [2], Mafuya [5], Minatsu [2], Ken [0])

image

I can’t give out points for this horrible, horrible white fog. I think we need to rise up and take back all the onerous white fog in anime. Stand with me, my friends. Let’s make sure no more anime gets sullied with white fog. YES WE CAN!

image

OMFG! OMFG! OMFG!

(Couple thoughts… Chizuru reminded me of an evil genius version of Nodame. Mokyuu~ was her line!)

(You know the old adage of a wolf in sheep’s clothing? Yep. Exactly. She’s just using it to bait all the cute underaged girls.)

(Count so far: Aka-chan [3], Chizuru [∞], Mafuya [5], Minatsu [2], Ken [0])

image

Ken managed to share an indirect kiss with all the girls at the end. At least he got something for his troubles.

(Though I liked his horror story the best. His dream is her nightmare. Also, here’s the outtake for a luggage joke earlier… Chizuru: When I saw her Vaio laptop, I just thought, “Hi, Outlook lets me plan my brainwashing cycles, Windows Movie Maker lets me quickly edit footage of Aka-chan sleeping, and, whenever I need to add new USB-enabled *censored* toys, Device Stage makes setup a breeze. I’m Chizuru, and Windows 7 is my idea.” I decided to go with the shorter version, as it flowed better.)

image

There’s no question in my mind that Chizuru has already explored every peak and valley of Aka-chan’s body. None. They’ve gone farther than Lou Dobbs and Mexican immigrants.

(Final count: Aka-chan [4], Chizuru [∞+1], Mafuya [5], Minatsu [2], Ken [0])

  1. Amazingly this was Mafuyu’s episode today, after Minatsu dominating for the last few. Her reserve party member joke and the accompanying 16 bit imagery was fantastic, and then she knocked it out of the park with her “only good for the beating the game using only the weakest character challenge” extension.

Is Ken ill? Is he in crushing despair that he didn’t take Chizuru up on her offer? Surely he should have been screaming out “Indirect Kiss!” just after (or before) drinking, only to be beaten up by the other haremettes.

Can you imagine Keima trying to woo Mafuya, only she’s too busy with her nekomini‘ed PSP to pay attention to him?

He can at least teach her you don’t need to carry your entire console collection around all the time, just 4 PFPs or so. But I’d read it, if only to see Keima’s horror when she wants him to act out one of her favourite BL scenes in exchange for the kiss.

My gosh, how could simply attaching a new ending particle to a sentence make it that much more awesome?

“- and a toilet seat cover”. I was disappointed Ken or Mafuyu didn’t get that one.

  2. Oh wow. I didn’t notice until that screen shot but Aka-chan is wearing the ichijou feast box as her cosplay.

  3. That’s not fair, giving Chizuru ∞+1. Mafuyu clearly dominated this episode, except for the ~ぎゃくに part. I admit, Chizuru won that one :D

  4. I’m kinda conflicted. Dynasty Warriors is so 2002. Maybe if it were Mafuya in Half Minute Hero, I would give her a point. It’s not like she doesn’t have enough points right now.

It’s clearly a Monster Hunter reference (see map spinoff):

  5. Okay, so Chizuru gives him the okay to fondle her… and… he doesn’t?!

I think Chizuru knew that Ken didn’t have the strenght to lift a single muscle…

    I think they are overdoing Mafuya’s stereotype…

Well, you didn’t complain when Keima brought 8 PSPs and 100 batteries to his grade school trip!

  6. “I can’t give out points for this horrible, horrible white fog. I think we need to rise up and take back all the onerous white fog in anime. Stand with me, my friends. Let’s make sure no more anime gets sullied with white fog. YES WE CAN!”.

I’m right next to you, my brother. As long as we take those stupid pink bath towels out as well. Who the hell bathes with a towel on?

  7. “You know the old adage of a wolf in sheep’s clothing? Yep. Exactly. She’s just using it to bait all the cute underaged girls.” Great, now I can’t stop linking Chizuru with Pedobear.

  8. Ken isn’t incompetent or gay. He’s a victim of anime’s Inverse Laws of Harems:

    1) The more a male character wants a harem, the less likely he is to get it. (i.e. Ataru Moroboshi, Itsuki Midoriba)
    2) The less a male character wants a harem, the more likely he is to get it. (It’d probably be quicker to list the counterexamples, but Tenchi Masaki and Rin Tsuchimi are the first two examples that come to mind.)

I’d bet a hefty sum that if Ken was single-mindedly and honestly enamored with a woman not in the student council, all four female council members would be totally ga-ga for him.

  9. Mokyuu~ Chizuru was a literal ROFL moment for me. Poor Mafuya; even when she’s the star for most of the episode she gets overshadowed.

Aka-chan: I’m shocked that the Rubik’s cube was completed. That’s like finding out that Sarah Palin has a 168 IQ.

Don’t they come solved in the package? That, or it’s a Rubik’s cube plushie.

Creey moe is a top tier moe mode… I think.

Check out the manga Oniichan Control. It’s only three chapters so far, but the yandere BMW is already showing signs of near Yuno-class potential.

  10. Just because Chizuru gives you permission to fondle her does not mean you will make it through alive.

  11. What the *censored* is *censored* with this *censored* post? It’s *censored* full of *censored*!

  12. Mmmm… ‘mokyuu’ Chizuru is no less evil, but much fluffier and cuddlier. In an evil way.

But yes, this was Mafyuu’s episode, especially with that outfit… ohgodthoselegs….

  13. I always want to know what an acid trip looks like. Now imagine the last five minutes of this episode with a few drops in the eyes? My balls will be so tripping yo

  14. Mafuyu’s RPG jokes were genius, and her cosplay was HHNNNGG, but still I think she’s the weakest character in terms of enjoyment.
And maybe she got the most screentime in this episode, but morning Chizuru hugging Aka-chan was a pantheon-class moment right there, so the prize this week goes to Chizuru-mukyo. And I demand an extended scene as a DVD extra. Come on, Deen, you know you want to.
Minatsu delivers as in every episode. Delicious southern belle is delicious, and her pajamas are win and awesome. DAT ASS. Tsundere really is the way~zamasu.
And finally, in this episode: Ken becomes dumbest harem lead ever (Chizuru’s breasts, for heaven’s sake…). And I also felt his lack of celebration after getting an indirect kiss from the rest of the student council was totally out of place.

  15. rh: I think it’s more none of them had any energy… which is why Chizuru didn’t have any energy to protest, but didn’t need to as she knew Ken didn’t have any energy left to move so he could cop a feel. Now, the thing at the end… if he was smart, he wouldn’t have reacted to the indirect kiss either, otherwise someone would’ve kicked that can right out of his hand and he wouldn’t have gotten a thing.

  16. Also, the way Mafuya arched her back right at the end of that pan… pure fanservice.

  17. Despite their animation shortcomings, Studio DEEN has proven to be a master of the creepy moe.

  18. Haesslich: The sixth episode (DVD version, mind you) of Gurren Lagann taught us that thou must not surrender. Ken may be close to Keima’s eroge wisdom, but he sorely lacks GAR, at least in front of Chizuru (he manages just fine with the other three, I think, being a harem male lead bound to receive high amount of physical violence and all).
And he could’ve celebrated AFTER drinking from the bottle.
Anyway, at this point what I really want from this series is a “melting tsundere” moment from Minatsu, but chances are it won’t happen; it wouldn’t flow well with the spirit of the series, I guess.

  19. Crap, I wanted to say “it wouldn’t go well with the flow of the series, I think”. Yay for half-asleep comments.

  20. And if he’d reached for it, and Chizuru had let him, it wo uldn’t have been funny… so therefore, he didn’t. Laws of funny override the laws of eroge or laws of GAR – Ken isn’t GAR, so he doesn’t. He’s also not really a harem lead; that’s just a delusion of his, which the others are ignoring. He’s only managed to get Minatsu’s attention for a bit.. and the two Toudou’s, which is completely against the harem paradigm as that means he hasn’t scored any of the main girls, which is something like Love Hina if Keitaro only managed to get Shinobu’s cousin’s attention…

  21. Also, Ken being a lolicon (somewhat)… well, that’ll play into things next ep.
