Mindless slaughter of innocent civilians… my gosh, what has Code Geass become? In terms of plot, I thought we already reached the pinnacle of most ridiculous back in episode 12. Well, Sunrise showed me! Even if there is a cult of the geass, mowing down unarmed men trying to surrender is a bit much. If the point of this jaunt to the desert is to make Lulu give up his moral high ground, I’d say that he’d lost it a long time ago. I mean, he took a defenseless loli hostage.
Oh well, my five word summary of this episode: CODE GEASS BEING CODE GEASS.
In other news, a quick update of the condition of the show’s melonpan:
C.C.: Only 200 more Pizza Hut points away from her very own Cheese-kun Knightmare frame. I couldn’t be prouder of her.
Cecile: No clue, possibly prepping a dress that shatters the hawtness factor of her previous red one in yet another futile attempt to seduce Lloyd.
Cornelia: Captured by V.V., rescued by Orange-kun. Like 2x hawter than before.
Euphemia: Dead.
Kallen: Still captured (Lulu apparently has “rescue Kallen” as high up as “change motorbike’s oil” on his to-do list) and is about to become a druggie slash Suzaku’s toy.
Milly: Desperately needs to replace the craptastic weatherwomen on CBS 5 SF – SJ – Oaktown.
Shirley: Dead.
Villetta: Not sure what her true intentions are anymore. I’m still hoping that she’ll wise up and fulfill her manifest destiny of coaching the Umisho swim team.
Various Bridge Bunnies: Haven’t been seen recently. Very disappointed.

(Is it just me, or is Sunrise cut-and-pasting dialogue from other shows for C.C.’s lines? Or do I just watch too much anime?)
Please tell me why she has not hit three bills yet. How is it possible? C.C., if you want to take over the world, I have a very easy trick for you. Get on TV and star in your own infomercial: “I eat a large Pizza Hut Pan Pizza everyday, and I haven’t gained a pound thanks to my revolutionary breakthrough weight loss system. If you want to know my secrets on staying thin, all you have to do is pledge your allegiance to Japan and overthrow Britannia. And, if you act now, I’ll throw in a 16 ounce bottle of Orange Clean! It cleans! With the power of oranges!”
(Trust me. Britannia would be overthrown the next day by.)
I like how “MY HUNI!” is in the background. She’s forever going to be known as that much like how Orange-kun is forever known as “Orange-kun.”

Reminds me of Star Wars when the clone soldiers turn on the Jedi. The Jedi children manage to out-smart and evade the clone soldiers, and they eventually bump into Anakin. Once they see Anakin, they drop their guard down, and, well, George Lucas congratulations on depicting child slaughter!
(A New Hope was definitely a children fantasy story. And a lot of people who went to see A New Hope eventually became parents themselves and wanted their children to get into Star Wars as much as they did, hopefully without dressing them up as Ewoks, but didn’t Anakin slaughtering the Jedi kiddies seem like a big insult to all those original fans? If I had kids, I’d be more outraged, I think.)
(But anytime I’m reminded of Hayden Christensen’s acting, it’s not a good sign.)
I can’t tell if Lulu is piloting a mecha or playing with the new Rock Band 2 drum kit.

This could have led to the greatest Code Geass moment ever, and Sunrise blew it. Oh well, I trust the doujinshi authors and writers have been busy– Comiket 74 is only a month away!

Hell, I might even give up blogging this series… what else is on… Mahou Tsukai ni Taisetsu na Koto… Ikkitousen… Antique Bakery… okay, maybe I’ll stick with Code Geass R2 a bit longer.

So far, all the Britannian women have been mobile suit pilots. It really makes me think that the ultimate mobile suit will go to Nunnally… she’s blind, she can’t walk, but if Suzaku kills Lulu, you know Code Geass R3 Knightmare of Nunnally will feature Nunnally seeking revenge and continuing her brother’s work.
The Emperor sure gained a lot of weight… I’m beginning to think that he’s hunting down C.C. because he wants her weight loss secrets. “How… how can you eat so much stuffed crust pizza and not put on the pounds?! How! HOW!!! DAMN YOUR WITCH POWERS!!!”

Too bad they won’t be sexy results. The only implied heterosexual couple in CG that I can think of off the top of my head was Cornelia and Guilford.
Maybe it wouldn’t be as much of a yaoi-fest, but I feel it wouldn’t be as fun to watch. Lelouch, being the magnificent bastard that he is, it wouldn’t be as nearly fun to watch.
On a side note, what’s with all the Rolo hate? He killed off a worthless character in Shirley. Also, his devotion to Lelouch is sweet and adorable (especially when he gets flustered). Wait… I think someone needs to fill my yandere fix (Dark Nunnally?). I’m broken enough as it is…

As much as I want to believe that Todou was making plans on top of Nagisa I think we all know that deep down they were discussing God in true wholesome Middle Eastern Sunrise Tradition. If they were doing something there would have been peaches and cream, not apples. They also didn’t make applesauce, another bad sign…Well it seems that Lebanon and Israel/Palestine didn’t make it.
Also Cornelia did not save Rolo, It was Lulu’s fault for giving a speech before pushing the shiny red button. Her MacGyvered artillery unit was after all created using “Made in Chinese Federation” parts. The targeting array was woefully off.
I guess Kallen will be the new Stellar and Rolo will now be her Shinn. Unfortunate this is.
Looking at the 2nd to last picture all I can think is that V.V. must wash his hair a lot. I’m sure Charles enjoys combing out the bugs, chewing gum, clods of dirt and whatever other muck VV drags his mane through.
the thing that struck me the most about this epi is Karen’s dress. It’s so low cut!! if you try to imagine where the cherries are suppose to be, it’s barely being cover- Excuse me i suddenly have an urgent business i MUST take care of.
Lulu’s army is also getting to be a real house of cards. Most of his new allies are Britannia (and China) defects with questionable amounts of loyalty, he’s alienating the original Black Knights, and he’s completely forgotten Kallen (unforgivable).
I can’t quite see why Suzaku is planning on using refrain except to make the audience hate him…does he expect her happiest memories to centre around the time when she encountered memory-regained Lelouch again? And can he really expect any useful admissions from her shambling around muttering “Let’s blow up the tower!”, “Get off the top of me Lulu!” etc?

I’m glad to know that Zero has a bomb permanently strapped to Rolo’s Mech now. It’s nice to know Lulu’s plotting for the perfect moment to blow him sky high.

Lastly, I thoroughly enjoyed Lulu using his entire military forces to go on a murderous rampage in revenge for Shirley. It reminds us that Lulu is still straight. He may be wearing the skirt, but at least the person he chooses to be with is female. Granted, not alive, but still female. Granted, he’s can’t stop others from pushing him down and raping him, but he least he’ll be angry, crying and screaming as he gets raped, rather than enjoying it.
Oh damn, I just realized… If Rolo’s the one raping Lulu, and Rolo does the job quick enough, he could Geass Lulu, and rape Lulu before he even realized it…aside from the lingering mess and butt pain.

Everyone is wondering whether Suzaku makes Kallen drug addict, but no one else has been thinking if Suzaku is himself drug addict. Tell me what he was using to get both Lulu and Shirley up with one arm.

I’m not sure how big a problem I have with Lelouch’s indiscriminate slaughter of the Geass cult. Exactly how do you draw a line in that situation between non-threatening civilians and the people you need to kill to protect yourself. Is he supposed to just keep letting them send Geass assassins after him? As far as the children thing goes, if you’re going to kill all their parents/experimenters why leave a bunch of people that will later take revenge on you?
Overall one of the best episodes in a while, plot seems to be moving forward again.
V.V.=Rolo, you can tell he’s wicked jealous about Marianne.
If C.C. can take a bullet or two through her head. Staying hawt after all those pizzas is easy.
And they really started to move forward with CG. Everything happened everywhere and scenes just kept changing. Lulu was going insane, Suzaku started his dealing business and Cornelia showed that she’s proud descendant of MacGywer.

The invasion of Britannia is underway, and they’re getting help from the inside. Case in point: the title of today’s episode of Sesame Street is “Big Bird Helps Zero”.
I liked the first series better not sure why but I just think that because we didn’t know what we where getting into.

Just think of it as the progressive evolution of the series. Like how Gurren Lagann steadily increased size, scope, and GAR, Code Geass is slowly but surely ramping up its own number of plot contrivices, illogical plot twists, and character hypocrisy. And we love them both for it! :)
It occurs to me… Millay was all for groping all the girls at the school right? Well… what in the world did she end up doing to Nunnaly? Bad thoughts…
Here are two brief silly theories that I have cooked up just half an hour ago since I feel like commenting right now: >:3
1. Marianna was directly involved with geass and incurred the wrath of V.V.(the insane shota character who maintained his calm facade throughout the entire battle until Orange-kun mentioned Marianna. Yes, that one). V.V. ordered the assassination of Marianna(perhaps for the same reason why Rolo killed Shirley when she uttered Nunnally’s name) and erased all evidences with the power of geass. In fear of the safety of Marianna’s children, Charles sent Lelouch and Nunnally to Japan using diplomatic hostage as an excuse. When war was brought upon Japan, Charles ensured that Lelouch and Nunnally survived the war, hampered all Britannian search efforts and arranged the Ashfords to go to Japan so that Marianna’s children can live in peace and be liberated from political struggles as his last favor to his dead lover.
2. Evangelion level mind crush – Some (if not all) of Lelouch’s childhood memories are fake. The reason that he failed to recognize Jeremiah and Anya is the due to that all of his memories have been tampered with by the Emperor’s geass. A lot of us have questioned ourselves just what is the purpose of creating a Geass Canceler and then place its wielder right next to Lelouch’s side unless it is plot relevant. Well, here is the punch line. Also, Anya was directly involved with Lelouch’s family and Marianna’s assassination. Her memories were likewise erased. According to the latest novels of “The Knight of Rounds†(which is canon) and official information, Anya’s past is surrounded in mystery. Her cellphone contains pictures of Ganymede, among other things, while she has no recollection of ever taking those pictures. Perhaps the reason why Anya has such a huge obsession with her cellphone is because she doesn’t want to lose her memories ever again.
Also, I *think* that I know why Charles has so many offspring. In order to rally the support of the noble families and succeed the throne, he made a great number of engagement promises to the nobles. After all, parents think after their children. In order to raise the social status of their children and themselves from mere nobility to royalty, the nobles families gave their support to Charles and made him the Emperor (perhaps with a little help from geass as well). Thus, all of his marriages are due to political reasoning, not romance…except for one – Charles’ love affair with the commoner who goes by the name of Marianna.
ALL HAIL JAPAN!

This is seriously one effed up episode imo. Lelouch got too hasty trying to destroy the Geass facility and that might come back to haunt him later on. His men are already showing signs of hesitation.
And someone needs to shoot Suzaku along with Nina. I was hoping Kallen would, but it seems like Suzaku is going to try and brainwash her to his side instead.
I’ve missed Kallen so much. They better be have artists working on the mold for that figure right now.. and they better have her in an action pose in the dress.. holding a gun. Actually, that sounds like I want to buy another Yoko figure.
I love how Cornelia knew the dreidel’s weakness. And the weakness was guns, huh, who would have guessed. Certainly not tactical genius Lulu, why? Because he wasn’t piloting a stolen enemy mecha obviously.

Sounds good and everything, but In all honesty, I’d be sorely disappointed if Code Geass took a turn to reason and normalcy at this point. I’ve come to accept, and somewhat expect, an entirely broken anime possible only from the lunatic minds of Sunrise. A halfway logical revelation now would destroy the fantasy I’ve constructed in my mind that allows me to enjoy Geass even this much.
Think about it this way: No doubt you’ve heard the cliche that something “was so bad it was good!” Imagine all entertainment is categorized as ‘good’ or ‘bad’, regardless of the various normal quality measures, such as Story, Animation, and Music. Sometimes the entertainment value of a series defies regular inspection and it becomes more than the sum of its parts (in this case much more), despite the sheer incompetence of the creators. That situation applies to Code Geass.
However, many people are unaware of how rare a feat this is. Think of it as being in an unstable equilibrium. There is a tenuous balancing act that needs to be maintained; just bad enough to be ‘good’ without swinging the pendulum back towards the ‘bad’ end of the entertainment spectrum. A small change, a marked increase in legitimate good quality, would tip the scales of Code Geass a second time into the realm of bad entertainment, since it was already “good entertainment” because it was so bad. Once this happens, very little can be salvaged from a second foray to the Dark side, and the show may forever be lost in the realm of The Unwatchables.
That is until Sunrise resurrects the franchise to create another Gundam/Mai-Otome-like spin-off.
In the end, it’s all futile. Like life, Code Geass teaches us go with the flow, and not fight the insanity of it all.

Hey, Lelouch showed us that he’s still human, not a freaking geek that tries to change the world for his little sister. He lost someone very precious to him, because he finally release that, despite the insanity within him and everything that he had done, there was someone who loved him with such intensity (before his first Geass and then with his father’s Geass). When Shirley died because of Rollo, because of Geass, he cursed that power for taking someone dear to him. I know this theory make no sense when he killed Euphie back in season one, but now that the things have changed; his rebellion is for all the people, and not just Nunnally. Bringing down the Cult was the best thing to do, as C. C. pointed out, the Geass lineage will end there, leaving just Charles, Rollo and Lelouch with this power and C. C. and V. V. as the only ones with the capability to grant this power. Rollo surely will die; Charles is in that list too. V. V. can obtain his objective (or be restrained) and finally, C. C. and Lelouch will fulfill their contract, whatever that is.
Is too early to reveal the Emperor’s plans to Lelouch, at least that’s what I think. Maybe we’ll learn more about C.C. and hopefully her desire to be fulfilled by Lelouch.

I just downloaded Strike witches myself. Gosh, a few months ago I’d never have watched anything that involved magical girls who look like airplanes fight in WW2 with jetpacks for legs to save the world from Aliens. I mean..that go’s beyond rediculous, right?

The odds of CC hatching a scheme to Jenny Craig the population Britannia into submission holds as much water as a plan by Keroro to conquer Pekopon thanks to the borderline anorexic character designs by CLAMP. Seriously the only “fat” people are like Emp and that bumbling bald dude who mumbles something about Clovis every now and then.
If I have learned anything about h-doujin; it is that the bottle of refrain that Suzaku is readying to pump into Kallen will become a stupidly effective aphrodisiac because…well, it’s always a stupidly effective aphrodisiac, and that hearkens me to Moyashimon because Suzaku’s got a surprise in store for himself if Kallen is anything remotely like Hasegawa while juiced up.

I’m convinced that the Sunrise writers are basically just throwing darts/drawing cards/asking the magic 8 ball in writing the plot.

This explains the reason why C.C. suddenly get impulse from Anya when they confronted each other.
Anya also gets the same impulse from C.C.
C.C. is talking to Marianne. I don’t want to find out in the final episode that Marianne used her son to exact vengeance on Charles and V.V ?
Charles started the witchhunt on C.C. to find the new Marianne.
It seems Nunally will hate Suzaku once she finds out that Karen is force to take refrain.
Ohgi and Villeta will both die.
Rolo should kill Nunnally before he die.
C.C’s true intention is to return Marianne’s soul to her body.

Sunrise seems going berserk mode and no longer care about the supporting characters. I can see the supporting characters die each episode it started with Bradley.

IMO, the best possible outcome would be:
1. Drop all pretense of serious plot.
2. Bring Shirley back from the dead as an uber-cyborg pleasurebot.
3. Fill remaining episodes with a marathon yuri orgy containing all melonpan + moe + meido + luluko.
