keroro one oh three

The Keron special forces arc concludes with an orgy of homages to shows, past and present, real and imaginary. Last we left off, Fuyuki was just about to destroy the world using the Kero ball, and Keroro had his nanomachines rebooted.

Fuyuki manages to hold off Taruru and Zoruru using the Kero ball, but Keroro turns the tables on Fuyuki by holding Natsumi hostage. After a stirring speech by Fuyuki begging Keroro to remember who he really is, Fuyuki hands over the Kero ball. Keroro uses the Kero ball to summon his old team… he recovered his memories thanks to Fuyuki! The counterattack is on as Tamama lays the smackdown on Taruru, Giroro one-ups Garuru in yet another awesome but too short battle, and Kururu recovers control of all compromised systems and recovers the previously defeated Pokopens. It’s Sunrise… no one dies. He also unleashes his mecha team, complete with Mecha-Aki with breast missiles. In the most anti-climatic battle, Dororo dispatches Zoruru using the “Kurumi Defense” (where everyone in Pani Poni Dash keeps forgetting about Kururmi and she eventually fades away into nothingness.) With Garuru’s forces defeated, he decides to leave but indicates that maybe his job wasn’t to take over Pokopen. “Mission complete.” Keroro’s squad and the Pokopens rebuild, and life goes back to normal.

Just loved this epic arc that started back in 101. While the first two installments were crammed with good action and high quality fight scenes, this last episode featured some moving oration, from Fuyuki to Garuru to Mutsumi. My only disappointment was lack of more Powered Natsumi screentime, and hopefully we haven’t seen the last of her. This arc also displays the range that Keroro has in both it can do 15 minutes stories as well as 90 minute stories… also Full Metal Panic-esque.

  1. I thought it was wonderfully ironic that Dororo defeated Zoruru that way as the former is always forgotten by his teammates.

  2. Darn even after procuring some Gunso DVDs the current cap is at 59. I guess the series will bust my wallet just like Inuyasha.

  3. Once the Big Milf Mecha is mass produced…..man I wanna watch more of this show. BTW is it me or did Aki shoot a thrid missle from between her…*ahem* thighs? And kudos for Keroro wearing the Char helm!

  4. Dam, the Garuru vs Giroro part was cool, but Garuru should have used his funnels to shoot rather than block the oncoming missiles… could’ve made a very cool scene ala keroro 102’s Powerd Natsumi xD

  5. Where do you get the raws for this? I cant find any eps over #8

  6. Anyone know any dirt on a fansub group so we can blackmail them into subbing more of this?

  7. Visit this one, they have some spelling errors though.

And for those counting, the series is planned to finish at 116 episodes.
